Well, it was a slow weekend for the box office, but on a happy note, it wasn't too hard to predict this one.
Voyage of the Dawn treader hit rough seas, with a relatively low numbers at the box office. Even with low numbers on Friday, that didn't stop the third movie in The Chronicles of Narnia series from sailing into first place.
Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie earned second place (probably for the first time in either of their lives). The reviews haven't exactly been glowing, especially our own Nick Allen's. Despite the two solid leads, it didn't come to too many theaters which may have ended up hurting it more than reviews.
Tangled tumbled into third place this weekend. The Disney princess story has the advantage of 3D ticket sales, but that can only last so long. Still, it's got plenty of good word of mouth to keep it alive through the holiday season hopefully.
Harry Potter's reign shows no signs of coming to a quick end either. The boy wizard and his friends will say goodbye to the silver screen in July of 2011, but until then, seems to be doing just fine.
Unstoppable seems to be on its last leg. The Tony Scott-helmed action flick has had a good long life on the top five, but it seems like time to say goodbye.
