Box Office Challenge: 'Jackass 3D' 'RED' and 'Conviction'
Box Office Challenge
Hitting the screens this weekend ...
Jackass 3D RED Conviction (Limited)
TSR's complete Film Review Database
This weekend has two newcomers in the form of two box office favorites. First up is Jackass 3D which sees the gang reunite for, you guessed it, more bad ideas in action. Then, we've got Bruce Willis and a bunch of other "old" folks kickin' ass and takin' names with RED.
For starters, I'm guessing the title belongs to Johnny Knoxville and his crew. Not only do people love to laugh at other people's pain, but in 3D! Who could resist?
Then again, RED has all the names that people love, but are people really ready to see Bruce Willis as a retiree? Plus, The Queen with a machine gun is a little too weird for me to wrap my head around. I'm still trying to forgive her for Teaching Mrs. tingle.
It doesn't look like people will be getting sick of The Social Network anytime soon so I'm guessing it'll still make an appearance on the top five, but knocked down a notch to the number three spot.
Then we've got Life As We Know It which had a respectable opening (especially given that Katherine Heigl movies don't seem to amount to much) and there's no reason it should end after one weekend. Also, given the limited fare that appeals to the chick flick crowd, this still has a shot.
Finally, Secretariat might be trotting into last place after its disappointing opening weekend. Truth be told, fifth place is kind of optimistic for this one, but this story of an underdog race horse owner and her horse might get a second wind. It's anybody's game really.
Each week we’ll take a look at the box office and see if we can’t nail the Top 5 films (in correct order). Also guess how many millions the #1 movie will make.
It’s harder than you think. If you don’t believe, let’s see what your answers are.
My prediction for the weekend of October 15 - 17 …
1. Jackass 3D ($29 million)
2. RED
3. The Social Network
4. Life As We Know It
5. Secretariat
So what are your Top 5 at the box office this weekend?
