Well, nobody likes to admit when they're wrong... although I should be used to it by now. Then again, I guess I can take comfort in the fact that nobody else ventured a guess in Friday's Box Office Challenge, right?
It wasn't too hard to guess that Social network did it again, but it wasn't the clean sweep I was looking for. Sure, it had a respectable lead, but after its first weekend I guess I was expecting a little more.
Katherine Heigl proved that she might be the box office arsenic everyone thought she was after her last couple of flicks. Life As We Know It isn't anything special, but that didn't stop audiences from taking it in, earning it second place in its debut weekend.
Ya know, for a movie about a horse beating the odds, Secretariat seems to be a bit of a letdown. Earning third place isn't such a bad thing, but then again, it's no box office winner either. I doubt it'll be long before Secretariat is shipped off to the glue factory if it keeps up like this.
Legends of the Guardian keeps afloat despite all these newcomers. Good news for the owls, but bad news for Craven's crew. Being beaten out by a movie about talking owls? It can't feel good for the master of horror.
My Soul to Take, even with the 3D gimmick, wasn't able to attract much of a crowd. Could it be that Craven's lost his touch? On behalf of horror fans out there, i certainly hope not, but I'll admit, I couldn't even make myself see this one.
