Thoughts by TSR: In what is already making a strong case for most exciting film news of 2013, THR says that Christopher Nolan may have found his follow-up to The Dark Knight Rises. The project is Interstellar, and its script is from someone Nolan has a history with: his brother Jonathan. Interstellar, which once had Steven Spielberg attached to direct and produce, is based on scientific theories by Caltech’s Kip Thorne and “involves time travel and alternate dimensions in a story that sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole.” If only there was a wormhole that could take me to this film’s opening day.
The Prestige and Memento are two of the films from last decade that I look back on most fondly, and Inception kicked this decade off with style, so I’ll look forward to whatever Christopher Nolan is doing. There’s not much, but the few details about Interstellar have me totally on board. The big ideas are there, and getting to see Nolan play with time travel should be great. This is a film I’ll be keeping close tabs on as it makes its way towards theaters. I can almost guarantee that when it sets a release date it will find a spot right near the top of my most anticipated list.
