TSRn: 'Area 52' Comic Headed to the Big Screen

The Scorecard Review news

News: Summit is set to deliver comic book series Area 52 to the big screen.

Source: Deadline

Thoughts by TSR: Area 52 is news to me. I never read the comic book, but judging from what this article says about the series, I'm picturing part Warehouse 13 meets The Thing. The good news? I'm totally into it. The premise sounds like it could either the quirky route or aim for the darker side of things. personally, I'm hoping for a little bit of mixture, but there's no telling how things will turn out when adapting a comic book to the silver screen.

The only thing that gives me pause about this news is the names attached. Although it's strictly producers and behind-the-scenes workers at this point, the people signed on don't do much for me. While The Hangover 2 and Transformers: dark of the Moon are movies that might interest some people, those movies didn't do much for me. Still, it's probably just a tactic to get people interested by name dropping. I'll reserve judgment till I see results.
