Thoughts by TSR: Out of a list of thousands of movies bustling around the film world, WarGames is a rare exception - it's a movie that actually warrants a remake.

This isn't to say that the film directed by John Badham is prehistoric, even with its early 80's technology. Instead, its more the case that WarGames was likely ahead of its time in 1983, with its emphasis on the power of computers and the concept of PC program snafus potentially leading to apocalyptic consequences. Now in our extremely digital age, the plot of a kid starting a thermonuclear war by hacking seems almost like an inevitable headline, except that this time the new Broderick wouldn't be limited to using a large block computer, but he'll also have cell phones, laptops, iPads, etc. It will certainly empower gamers the same way that The Social Network empowered anyone who owned a website, or even a Facebook page.
