Thoughts by TSR: Jackson says Lilly will play the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means "daughter of Mirkwood." This Mirkwood guy means nothing to me. What matters is we have Lilly playing an elf. I was never a huge fan of Liv Tyler playing Arwen. The blank stare and forced romance were never compelling. Lilly can play tough and sexy, and hopefully that's exactly what she'll do.
Jackson says Barry Humphries will be portraying the Goblin King, in much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum. Once again, I trust Jackson. If he tells me there will be a CGI character, I feel safe. If it came from George Lucas ... not so much.
