Tarantino has written 40 pages of an 'Inglourious Basterds' prequel
Inglourious Basterds writer/director Quentin Tarantino has slipped a little more information concerning what's next on his agenda. Speaking to New York Magazine's pop culture webpage Vulture, Tarantino said that he has written 40 pages of a film that would be a prequel to this past August's Inglourious Basterds, but it's not his next project. He said that he is not giving up on the idea of a prequel, especially if Basterds does well with the awards (it's up for Best Picture at the Golden Globes, and it's certain that Oscar will take note of the great film also).
Before a second Basterds movie, if we ever see one, he is working on a project that is "smaller, and less epic" than that film, and is also in "a different genre entirely." He then said that he thinks he can finish this specific script in a "five-to-six-month period of intensive writing." (Considering this math and his usual timetable, perhaps we'll see this "different genre" film in 2012).
Currently, IMDB.com has Tarantino listed for Kill Bill Vol. 3, which is said to come out in 2014. This is possible, and sadly, very far off.
Let the speculations begin. What could Tarantino be working on? What genres has he not tapped already with his '70s era films?
