Katherine Heigl to star in Life As We Know It with Transformer's Josh Duhamel
On the silver screen, Katherine Heigl has fallen for Seth Rogen, Gerard Butler, and now might be adding a new name to the list: Josh Duhamel. The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star is currently in talks to star opposite Heigl in a film called Life As We Know It, which is to be directed by Greg Berlanti. Berlanti previously wrote and produced shows like "Everwood," "Eli Stone," and "Brothers & Sisters."
Written by Ian Deitchman and Kristin Rusk Robinson, the script is about two "unattached adults whose world [is] turned upside down when their mutual best friends die in an accident and name them as caregivers of their orphaned daughter."
Executive producing the "romancer" are Heigl and her mother Nancy (who also paired up to exec produce The Ugly Truth). Barry Josephson and Paul Brooks will produce.
The premise is a bit of a bummer, I must admit. I'd say that's a bad week - having your friends die, and then finding out their dumping their kid onto you. However, I'm sure the characters of Heigl and Duhamel have a lot to learn about child care and Life As We Know It. At these early stages, I'm thinking a few things. It's going to be a bit of a tear jerker with a romantic core, (somewhat like Life or Something Like It), the "orphaned daughter" will probably be elementary school aged, and of course, Heigl and Duhamel will end up together.
What do you think? Intrigued by the pairing of Duhamel and Heigl? Did you know that Duhamel was in 15 episodes of "All My Children"?
