Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr. have a Due Date with Hangover director Todd Phillips
Comedian and The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis has just been paired with Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., for a new film called "Due Date." Described as a "buddy comedy without the buddies," Due Date will be directed by Old School and The Hangover helmer Todd Phillips. Shooting is set to begin in September in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Arizona.
In the film, Downey will play an expectant father who embarks on a road trip, racing to get to his wife before she delivers their baby. Galifianakis will play his "mismatched partner" on the odyssey.
The Due Date script was written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, and was tinkered on by Adam Sztykiel.
This is great casting. Truly two funnymen, it's kind of a dream to hear that they'll be working together. As for pregame predictions, I don't think I'm far off from assuming that Downey Jr. and Galifianakis will be playing "regular dudes," with the heavily bearded member playing the oddball. With this shooting in September, it's possible that Due Date could drop around summer time. If the comedic forces of Downey Jr. and Galifianakis align, is it possible we could have another Hangover on our hands?
