That's good, and close to great for Wall*E on opening weekend. It beat out Kung-Fu Panda ($60), Ratatouille ($47), and Cars ($60), but I think the real test will be the second weekend. It will have some competition with Hancock. But I think it has a chance to be around $40 million it's second weekend which would be pretty impressive for a blockbuster nowadays. It was also the 2nd biggest June opening after Harry Potter Part 3.
Wanted had the 12th biggest June, and the highest for an R-rated film.
