Jake's Take on his interviews with Russell Crowe and Paul Haggis

Russell Crowe is not an easy interview.

Let me make this clear though -- he has never once been rude to me, never given me anything less than a fantastic interview, and I've never had an interview with him where I didn't get at least one "Oh, that's a good question."

But I felt like I earned it.

He doesn't play around and he has no tolerance for those who does. He is a man of his craft and it's his craft that he wants to talk about. If you show him the respect by stepping up your game and asking a question that even half way challenges him, you'll get incredible insight from one of the most talented artists in the business.

Go in and ask whether or not Maximus could beat King Leonidas in a fight, and you're asking for a phone thrown at your head.
