Jake's Takes: 'The Other Guys' interview with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg

The Other Guys Directed by: Adam McKay Cast: Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson Running Time: 1 hr 47 mins Rating: PG-13 Release Date: Month, Date Year - August 6, 2010

PLOT: We've all heard of the best cops, but what about the other guys? Two cops (Ferrell and Wahlberg) are thrown together to try and become the top detectives in New York City. Things don't go as planned.

Jake's Take on Ferrell and Wahlberg: There's something about sitting on the top of a roof of a downtown Los Angeles hotel in the middle of July that tends to zap the energy out of you. Will Ferrell was dabbing sweat spots off of his shirt as I walked up to interview him and Mark Wahlberg -- and even though I was fairly early in their day full of interviews, they seemed to already be affected by the heat. Still, Will is always an incredibly kind and giving interview, willing to play ball if you're throwing a funny curve while Mark was a bit more subdued (though Will seemed to be trying to pull stuff out of him.)

From my experience with Mark during this interview (and in several others I've seen, notably an ew.com Comic Con '10 interview), he tends to be far more serious -- during interviews for a comedy -- than he should be. Smile dude, you're sitting next to Will Ferrell.
