Hi.

Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire - interviews with Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Sapphire, Mo' Nique, Gabourey Sidibe and Mariah Carey

The big guns came out for Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire. Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey are executive producers, and when they attach themselves to a project, people listen. CLICK HERE to read Nick Allen's review of Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire

But before we get to interviews with them plus the author Sapphire and the film's cast Mo' Nique, Gabourey Sidibe and Mariah Carey, let's talk about this title.

OK, I get it. You couldn't call the movie Push, because that title was just used earlier this year in the sci-fi flick starring Dakota Fanning and Chris Evans.

But what's wrong with calling it Precious and leaving it at that? With the marketing blitz this film is sure to get (from Oprah alone), how many people will only read a title, and strictly base whether they will see a movie based on title alone? Let's think about this. Someone that reads a book is only going to read a title, not see the word "push" and just move on? I'm not seeing it.

And yes, this rant is because going forward I will feel compelled to write Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire every single time because that is the full title. Extra writing. Sigh. On to the interviews ...
