Episode 74: Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider - 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' and Evan Glodell from 'Bellflower'

Lots to talk about on Episode 74 of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider. For one thing, it’s Eric’s birthday. Also, there were some movies. Jeff and Eric had possibly their biggest disagreement yet on “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”: Jeff hated it, Eric liked it a lot. You make the call! They agreed that “Colombiana” is a generic and overlong action movie. Jeff saw the documentary “Senna” and called it the best doc of the year so far; he was less fond of “Our Idiot Brother,” starring Paul Rudd. Bayer and Snider both liked “The Interrupters,” a respectable doc about stopping violence in inner-city Chicago, directed by the man who made “Hoop Dreams.” Finally, they talked to Evan Glodell, the writer/director/producer/star of “Bellflower,” which both guys loved. Evan was very enthusiastic about his movie. You should go see it. QOTW: In honor of “Apollo 18,” which presents a horror twist on the Moon landing, what other historical event could be given the horror treatment? Give us your ideas, and we will steal them.

About the show …

Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider

Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider are movie critics, but not the stuffy, elitist kind. They’re not the idiotic fanboy kind either. So what kind of movie critics are they? The kind with an Internet radio show, that’s what.

“Movie B.S.” features reviews of new films both good and bad, smackdowns of the bad movies of yesteryear, and a plethora of other movie-related features. All of it is tied together by cavalier banter between Bayer and Snider, who noticed that there was a dearth of cavalier banter on the Internet and sought to rectify that.
