Monthly Movie Preview – November 2010 Fresh off the sugar high from an eventful Halloween, in comes November. It's always hard to tell what November will bring. There are always those sure things, like an animated family-friendly movie around the holidays, or a comedy here or there, but it's something else as well.
November, much like the holiday in it, is about celebrating our differences and coming together... at the movies. Before you laugh it off, just think about it. Within the first week alone, we have a comedy, a drama, and a family friendly movie for the little ones. Hell, if that's not diversity (or capitalism, take your pick) at its finest than I don't know what is. Check out what other movies November has in store for audiences.

Due Date
The Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Zach Galifianakis, Jamie Foxx The Plot: Two unlikely travelers, Peter and Ethan, team up to get Peter to his child's birth on time. Seriously, that about sums it up. The Buzz: Who doesn't love a good comedy of errors? Hell, who doesn't love Robert Downey Jr. or Zach Galifianakis? Well, maybe not Mel Gibson right now... but that's beside the point. Robert Downey Jr. on his own is reason enough for me to see a movie, but Galifianakis's track record with director Todd Phillips certainly sweetens the deal. Not since the likes of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello have I been so excited about a comedic pairing.
The Others:
For Colored Girls - Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, Thandie Newton Megamind - Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey

Morning Glory
The Stars: Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton The Plot: A young producer of a daytime television show is forced to play mother to the two immature hosts. The Buzz: Buzz has been kinda quiet on this one, but judging from its cast, I'd say it's got plenty going for it. At first I was a little nervous that it would be a rehash of The Devil Wears Prada but the trailer looks like it's got a little more going on. Rachel McAdams doesn't always pick the best projects, but this looks like some throwaway rom-com fun for the working woman. Judging from the trailer, fans who are tired of the same tricks of the dying romantic comedy genre may find something worth watching with this one.
The Others:
Skyline - Donald Faison, Eric Balfour, Scottie Thompson Unstoppable - Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
The Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint The Plot: Harry and his pals continue in their struggle to defeat Lord Voldemort in part one of the final installment in the Harry Potter franchise. The Buzz: It's Harry Potter so, of course, people are losing their cool over this one. I've never been much of a Potter fan, but in a weird way, even I'm excited for this one. Considering it's the beginning of an end of an era and all that jazz, I'm counting on people getting pretty pumped. There's no way you could get me to brave a midnight showing, but I'm expecting an epic turnout for an epic movie.
The Others:
The Next Three Days - Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson

Tangled
The Stars: Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Donna Murphy The Plot: Disney busts out a re-telling of the famous story of Rapunzel with some all-star voice talents this Thanksgiving season. The Buzz: This movie's got a lot going for it. I've always been a Rapunzel fan, but it looks like they're taking the story to new heights. From what I've seen, the animation is absolutely intoxicating and since I'm a huge cartoon nut, I can't help but breath a sigh of relief over that. Plus, with voice actors like Mandy Moore and Chuck from... well, Chuck along with Ron Perlman and Jeffrey Tambor, it sounds like I've got reason to be excited!
The Others:
Burlesque - Cher, Christina Aguilera, Kristen Bell Faster - Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Maggie Grace Love and Other Drugs - Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Judy Greer
