Final Thoughts: This year was simply stocked full of firsts. For the first time ever, an actor finished first and last in the same category. Streep brought home the gold and the ... what's last place get? Coal? Her performance in Julie & Julia was strong, barely beating out my personal favorite, Mulligan. Sandra Bullock finished fourth, which is about where she should be. She also missed out on last place by 0.02. And look at number five. Rudolph got some love. Away We Go isn't going to get higher than this fifth place finish even though it was one of my favorite films of the year. I'm learning that people either love Deschanel or hate. There is no in between, which is why her final score is actually fairly in between.
