Marc Webb’s 'Spider-Man' Reboot Coming July 3, 2012 in 3D
It doesn’t seem like that long ago that news of Sam Raimi giving up the Spider-man franchise and Marc Webb taking over hit the internet and newsstands. However, since then, a lot seems to have happened, according to Sony, who has big plans for the picture. The (500) Days of Summer director is slated to start production of the franchise re-boot later this year, but the studio has already released some specs for the project. In an attempt to catch on the 3D craze (and hoping it will last that long) the reboot will be a 3D picture with a July 3, 2012 release date. James Vanderbilt, whose most famous screenwriting credit is David Fincher’s Zodiac, is in charge of the script while several producers from Raimi’s trilogy will return as producers for the new project. No news yet on actors or actresses for the roles of Peter Parker/Spider-Man and his love interest, Mary Jane Watson. What direction would you like to see Spider-Man head in? What changes are you hoping for from the Raimi trilogy? Most importantly, who do you think should be cast as Peter Parker?
