'Sleeping Beauty' starring Emily Browning - trailer review

Sleeping Beauty Directed by: Julia Leigh Starring: Emily Browning, Rachel Blake Rating: Unrated Release Date: unknown

TRAILER SCORE: 6/10

Thoughts by TSR: When I first saw Emily Browning in Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events, I worried for her. A girl that young who is that beautiful is going to have a rough time with men. The makers of Sleeping Beauty seem to have the same idea. The trailer looks beautiful, but gives little away. It mostly focuses on Browning, in various states of undress, looking desirable. They also want to make it clear that Jane Campion is involved, though she isn't the director. It's first timer Julia Leigh whose better known for her novels. I've heard a little bit about the film and it sounds a little more like Catherine Breillat than Campion. I don't know whether I'll find the film's take on female sexuality interesting or exploitative. Despite that, I'm curious to see the film.

TSR Buzz: Portlandia recycles, Shia LaBeouf gets real in Vancouver and I'm tired of Miss Representation
