MY THOUGHTS: Benicio Del Toro as the Wolfman? That’s its own little movie orgasm wrapped in euphoria, wedged firmly between dead cool and awesome. The preview is well-produced with some choice writing thrown in for the thinkers, but some of the elements are obvious rip offs–with an idea this good, you gotta watch out for the rip offs…is that you Gollum?
Sure, it comes off as a cross between Bram Stoker’s Dracula and (EGAD!) Van Helsing, but if Benicio’s there, it has to be worth it. Benicio can make the sun shine and sprinkle it with dew, especially when he’s going through disgusting morphs and ripping people’s throats out. It’s a beautiful thing.
