The Twilight Saga: New Moon – Trailer
The bare-butt of Sacha Baron Cohen wasn’t the only thing that the MTV Movie Awards dropped last Sunday night.
The show was the first to premiere the long-awaited first trailer for the next film in the Twilight saga, New Moon. It was met with overwhelming squealing, especially during its strategically placed introduction of a shirtless Taylor Lautner. Check it out!
I’ll admit, this is a pretty good teaser. Not in a “Oh, that looks good! I can’t wait to see it!” kind of way, but in a “Whoa now! I have got a few questions about this upcoming champion of a film!”
Number One: Will Robert Pattinson’s acting in New Moon be as awful as when he says “This is the last time you’ll ever see me,”? That’ll be a stake in New Moon’s heart for sure.
Number Two: And how much does Bella’s life really, uh … bite? For example, she has to beg her boyfriend for a kiss on her friggin’ birthday. Then, a gift that she gets from said boyfriend’s family cuts her finger (leaving a noticeable red spot on the carpet). On top of that, she gets attacked by a member of her boyfriend’s family, and then, no fault of her own, her boyfriend leaves her! As if life couldn’t be any worse, then she gets attacked by another dude, with even crazier eyes! It just doesn’t sound like she’ll have a life even 1/48th as good as Edward’s, who could spend an eternity patrolling high school hallways for more gullible girls.
Number Three: Will Pattinson and Stewart even make it to the fourth film? Contractually, they have to. But anyone could get a whiff of the pungent disdain the two had for the first film during the MTV Movie Awards. They didn’t look happy to be there, especially for a film (or series, in this case) not very complimentary to their hopes of being taken serious as credible thespians.
Number Four: Why do people think Taylor Lautner is hot? I’d rather play with him in werewolf form than the convenient, “I am not wearing a shirt,” form. If anything, Cam Gigandet was way foxier!
New Moon opens November 20, 2009.

It’s all about details….and the details were just not there! When one of Stephanie Meyer’s vampires is hungry their eyes are black – not red as in the trailer. This confrontation was supposed to take place in the “meadow” – not a barren patch of dirt. I don’t know anyone who drops something, let alone throws it down, after a simple papercut – that’s the thing – it’s supposed to be a little thing, but it drives Jasper (and all the rest for that matter) crazy, risking everything. The entire part shown of the birthday party just didn’t cut it as far as the actors’ interaction. These are just a few of the more obvious problems. Yes, I realize these were bits and pieces cut and pasted together…but I am very concerned. I hope I’m wrong.
With Twilight up for so many awards, Hannah Montana, the cast from High School Musical, so many actors and role models for young people sharing that stage, what prompted MTV to have such degrading and inappropriate activities. Not funny. Memorable – but NOT in a good way.
I know that many in the tv audience had waited with so much anticipation to see the New Moon trailer. Average age – I’d say about 12. I can only imagine how many tears were shed when parents saw the limo scene with naked Andy in Justin’s face, and the show was quickly turned off. Those same parents just care about what their children see on tv.
It was in poor taste, folks. Really in poor taste and a marketing nightmare. I’m surprised sponsors would allow it knowing the age of most of those watching. It’s just disrespectful and, once again, not funny…just sad and something many HAD to sit through to see the actual awards. There is no need to be gross to appeal to this audience, to any audience.
It’s just sad to me that those involved think so little of the young people that vote for these awards.
This is in response to Nancy Lou’s first comment, in the book the “wild” vampires who eat humans eyes turn red when they are hungry.
seriously its MTV,everyone knows what mtv is about and that the award shows are never edited the first time around.if you dont want your kids seeing things like that then dont turn it on that channel. i myself(a mother of two) like the award shows mtv puts on its absolutly halarious, not everything has to be child proof! its humor get over it..there is a little something called BED TIME!
The MTV Awards aired at 9:00 PM in my time zone. I don’t know of many 12 year olds that have that early a bedtime. The Twilight trailer release was publicized everywhere. Of course the kids were going to find a way to watch the show. They were the driving force behind the vote! I stand by what I said – if you are advertising to a young audience and you know thousands and thousands of tweens and teens will be watching, one would think you have a certain responsibility to leave out the gross skits.
The human-drinking vampires’ eyes are dark when they’re thirsty just like the vegetarian vampires; however, Laurant was just on a recon mission for Victoria when he happened on Bella. He wasn’t hunting so we don’t know is he was thirsty or not.
In reply to Candi and Kelly – we’re all correct in one way or another! Candi – Stephanie Meyer states in New Moon that Laurent’s eyes were dark red because he was thirsty. Bright red color indicates not thirsty. It was stated that Laurent was not looking for Bella at that time when he found her in the “meadow”, he was hunting, he was thirsty. Eyes should be dark red, not bright red. I watched the trailer again and sometimes they look dark, other times they look bright red. Oh, also, on the next page it says that Bella looked into his red eyes. Doesn’t say dark red OR bright red. They just really looked bright red to me in the trailer on the word “mouthwatering”.
