Even though Russell Crowe’s got a new movie coming out this weekend, the name on everybody’s lips is Harry Potter. It’s too bad for Crowe and Elizabeth Banks because the movie doesn’t look half bad, but they had to know there was no chance at taking number one at the box office this weekend.

It’s the beginning of the end for the series and as usual, that means big money. Hell, they barely need to advertise this one with all the fans that are raving about this one. It remains to be seen whether the hype is worth it, but either way, this one’s taking the box office.

The latest release from preachy director Paul Haggis features two capable leads, but the studio bet on the wrong horse this weekend. It was a pretty bad move to bury this movie with all the Potter mania, but maybe it won’t be as much of a bloodbath between the two as I’m predicting. It’ll probably be more of a mercy kill. It has the chance to take number two, but I’m predicting a distant lead for Potter.

Megamind is going to milk that 3D for all its worth, even with Harry taking over some of the bigger screens. Is it enough? Probably not, but I wouldn’t discount Ferrell just yet.

Unstoppable is looking at another rough week ahead. The movie doesn’t have a whole lot going for it and the threat of a runaway train can only keep people on the edge of their seats for so long. More specifically? Pretty much opening weekend.

Finally, Due Date‘s demise is long overdue. The buddy comedy has been slowly slipping, but I’m predicting it’ll round out the top five before bowing out next weekend.

Each week we’ll take a look at the box office and see if we can’t nail the Top 5 films (in correct order).
Also guess how many millions the #1 movie will make.

It’s harder than you think. If you don’t believe, let’s see what your answers are.

My prediction for the weekend of November 19-21 …

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 ($90 million )

2. The Next Three Days

3. Megamind

4. Unstoppable

5. Due Date

So what are your Top 5 at the box office this weekend?
