‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ to get the IMAX treatment

Yes, that’s right. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will all be larger than life.

I heard it here first – Twilight Novel Novice. For the complete story the IMAX Corporation and Summit Entertainment say that the third film in the franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels, Eclipse, will be the first released in the big, big screen format normally just for the big boys like The Dark Knight and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The movie is being directed by 30 Days of Night filmmaker David Slade and it’s supposed to be the most action-packed. One thing for fans to release … no scenes in Eclipse were filmed using IMAX cameras. So while the bigger picture and better sound will exist, there will be no signature scenes that will step it up a notch.

It will hit theaters June 30, 2010. That’s the same day it will be in regular theaters.
