Director Nimrod Antal chosen for new Predator reboot
After a few weeks of speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Vacancy and Kontroll director Nimrod Antal has been selected to direct the fifth Predator film, which will be a reboot.
The film will be made through Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios, working on a script written by Alex Litvak and Michael Finch.
Talking to Ain’t It Cool News, Rodriguez dished a little information that seemed to indicate it would share the same idea as the earlier films.
“[The film] involves a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors (that are not always from outside their group). So like the original movie, the title does have double meaning,” stated Rodriguez.
Predators, as it is currently titled, is aiming for a July 7, 2010 release date.

Given the information about this movie it doesn’t sound like a reboot, more like either a sequel or a prequel.
My reson for this beleave is this: There is arguing everywhere about reboots and remakes, and most of the time it isn’t true.
What is it with people and the word “Reboot”? They use the damn word everywhere.
Same thing with Star Trek, “Reboot” here and “Reboot” there, when it actually was a sequel.
Leonard Nimoy as Spock was in it, and referred to events that happened in the earlier films, so don’t even attempt to start arguing about this.
Otherwise I’m hyped like hell over this, getting a good view on the predators planet is the best idea hollywood gotten in years.
For years i’ve hoped they would make a reality of this idea. =)
