Amy Adams to join Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter
It’s not yet set in stone but Variety reports that Amy Adams is currently in negotiations to star in Relativity Media’s The Fighter with Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg.
David O. Russell is directing the film, which tells the story of “Irish” Micky Ward (Wahlberg), who with the help of his half-brother (Bale) rises from the streets of Lowell, Massachusetts to claim the world lightweight boxing championship.
If negotiations are successful, Adams would play a hard-nosed bartender who ends up dating Wahlberg’s character, Irish, when the film starts shooting this summer.
Tucker Tooley is the executive producer backed up by Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman, Ryan Kavanaugh, Paul Tamasy, Dorthy Aufiero and Wahlberg.
We know that Wahlberg and Bale have some fight in them but I imagine the bartender character has to be pretty tough too. Can Amy Adams pull it off?
