I totally agree with "she said" the movie completely lacked the romance that the book protraded. The actress who played Bella, although beautiful, came across dull, and without any kind personality at all; where Bella in the book is clumbsy, funny, head strong, kind, and bursting with personallity. I really hope with New Moon, even the atmosphere in the movie holds more character. The Cullens are a big part of the movie, they become family to Bella, and Alice is Bella's best friend. Lets not leave them out to focus all the attention on Edward and Bella and then completely lose everything that is between the two on the set. And I have spoken to 40 year olds who have read the books more than once and still feel that something was lost when the books went to the big screen.

I also forgot something I wanted to bring up--they portrayed Alice's glimpses into the future the same way Phoebe sees into the future on "Charmed." Kill me.

And, to add to Bayer's comment, the reason it's such a challenge for Bella to elude Jasper and Alice, is BECAUSE Alice can see into the future. The moment she decided to sneak off, Alice would've picked up on that.

I can't believe I forgot the most annoying change of all.
When Bella is whisked away to Phoenix, and must escape Alice and Jasper.
In the book this showcasing everyone's intelligence. Bella must figure out a way to shake them, but she knows they are superior to her in every way.
At the airport she realizes this is her turf and she takes advantage.
In the film ... they turn their back, she leaves. Just awful.
And this can't be blamed on timing (compared to getting rid of the first dance and only having prom).
