I sat down with Ramon Rodriguez and others in Los Angeles at the Four Seasons to talk about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and more. Rodriguez stars as Leo, Sam’s roommate and conspiracy theorist.
Bayer: Leo is constantly seeing things he can’t believe, and he’s a conspiracy theorist. So why does he keep doubting throughout the entire film?
Rodriguez: Listen, you can have your theories, but when you see it in person man, that’s the funny part. He freaks out. I think that’s a natural human reaction and a lot of people would feel the way Leo did.
Bayer: So what are you looking at while filming the Transformers?
Rodriguez: Poles and a tennis ball, man. And if we’re lucky, we’ll get a face of who we are talking to.
Bayer: Talk to me about “The Wire.”
Rodriguez: Nice bro, I can’t even tell you what an amazing experience. First of all, to be along side Omar, which is most people’s favorite character on the show, I mean he’s my favorite. I can’t tell you how crazy it was, first day, first shooting on that show was me and Omar, naked next to each other. I was like, “there’s no warm up here for the characters?” There’s like this cult following with the show, and every where I would go after that people would yell, “Renaldo, where’s the Honey Nut cereal?”
