Episode 81: Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider – ‘The Thing’ and ‘The Big Year’

This week’s edition of Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider cuts loose with a non-review of “Footloose,” which Jeff and Eric weren’t able to see because the only screening that critics were allowed to go to was at the same time as the actual only screening of “The Thing.” And they chose “The Thing,” which turns out to be a pretty lousy prequel/remake of John Carpenter’s 1982 film by the same title. Jeff and Eric did watch the “Footloose” trailer, though, and offered their thoughts based on that. Also, “The Big Year” is a pleasant enough birdwatching comedy, though a movie with Steve Martin, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson should be a lot funnier. Then there’s a rousing game of Pitch Me that Eric is pretty sure they already did not very long ago but Jeff thinks was like a year ago, and there’s no way of telling who’s right without looking through the show archives, and eh, that sounds like a lot of work.

About the show …

Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider

Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider are movie critics, but not the stuffy,
elitist kind. They’re not the idiotic fanboy kind either. So what kind
of movie critics are they? The kind with an Internet radio show,
that’s what.

“Movie B.S.” features reviews of new films both good and bad,
smackdowns of the bad movies of yesteryear, and a plethora of other
movie-related features. All of it is tied together by cavalier banter
between Bayer and Snider, who noticed that there was a dearth of
cavalier banter on the Internet and sought to rectify that.
